- I live in Montpelier with my family. I have a husband, one 5 1/2 year old girl, a 20 month old son, two dogs, and a tank full of walking stick insects. Also, a betta fish named Blueberry. We also have 5 alpacas, Winnie, Sarah, Amos and babies Iris and Ivy... I love the outdoors, I enjoy cooking and traveling, and I read anything I can get my hands on. I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I was four years old and would earnestly line up my dollies and stuffed animals in rows in my bedroom, give them name tags, and proceed to educate them well into the afternoon. I have been a teacher at Union Elementary School for thirteen years and love it as much as I did the first year. I love the kids, the smell of chalk, the fourth and firth grade curriculum, the variety of activities, and the field trips! I am always trying to improve my teaching, hence the technology integration course. This is my first attempt at a class blog. Enjoy!

I want to know how many abanaki lived in vermont?Where did the abanaki orignaly come from?

In the book Ann Story I learned that she made a little cave for protection when she lived and its still there in Middlebury today.
I learned that the ugenics movement was when Abenaki women got there tubes tied. the goverment did this because they wanted to wash out the Abenaki.

I want to know if the abenaki could speak to different tribes? Did the eastern abenaki and the western abenaki ever have wars?
I Know that the abanaki belived that if they don`t bury there dead hat the dead person will come to life and haunt them so even in the winter when the ground is hard and you couldn`t dig they would srore the dead persons body untill the summer when the ground thas bye Ruby j.
We learned about Ann Story. I think it was a great book.She was burried in Middlebury,VT.I thought it was a great book.I think it was cool she lived in Vermont.

The abanake made wood canos. Some of the women made baskits.
